Company Summary:
A well-established and forward-thinking industrial company based just South of Stuttgart is undergoing a strategic transformation and is seeking a dynamic and experienced Supply Chain Director to lead its supply chain organization. This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to shape and centralize the end-to-end supply chain strategy, encompassing design, planning, logistics, and operational excellence. The company values hands-on leadership, empathy, and the ability to drive meaningful change across all levels of the organization.

The Supply Chain Director will be responsible for:

Strategic Leadership:

  • Develop and implement a holistic supply chain strategy aligned with business transformation goals.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to optimize supply chain performance and structure.
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to ensure operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a key interface between market demands and international sales subsidiaries.

Supply Chain Design and Planning:

  • Oversee supply chain design and planning processes to ensure responsiveness and efficiency.
  • Drive initiatives that enhance planning accuracy and resource utilization.

Logistics and Operational Oversight:

  • Manage logistics and production planning through direct reports.
  • Ensure timely, cost-effective delivery and distribution of products.
  • Collaborate with process specialists to streamline operations.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Champion a culture of operational excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Identify and address organizational gaps with initiative and independence.
  • Implement best practices and innovative solutions to elevate supply chain capabilities.

Team Leadership and Development:

  • Lead and mentor a diverse team including heads of logistics and planning.
  • Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and feedback-driven environment.
  • Build trust and engage constructively across all levels of the organization.

The Supply Chain Director should have the following qualifications:

  • Proven experience in end-to-end supply chain leadership, ideally within corporate or mid-sized industrial environments.
  • Strong strategic mindset with hands-on operational capabilities.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to connect across functions and cultures.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead change, solve complex operational challenges, and inspire teams.
  • Strong Planning and Supply Chain Design/ Process improvement experience
  • Fluent in English and German.
