Warehouse Operative

At its Berlin location, Biosynth GmbH carries out contract development and manufacturing in the field of bioconjugation and polymer-based administration of active ingredients.

Purpose of the Role

Ensuring the smooth running of the Warehouse.

Role and Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and shipping chemical products
• Oversee the proper handling and storage of hazardous materials in accordance with safety regulations and company policies
• Conduct regular inspections of the warehouse to ensure compliance with safety standards and proper storage practices
• Train and mentor warehouse staff on safe handling procedures for chemicals and hazardous materials
• Maintain accurate inventory records and ensure proper labelling and documentation of chemical products
• Collaborate with other departments, such as procurement and quality control, to ensure timely and accurate fulfilment of orders
• Troubleshoot any issues related to warehouse operations, including equipment malfunctions or inventory discrepancies
• Implement and enforce safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and emergency response procedures
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline warehouse processes and optimize efficiency
• Communicate effectively with suppliers, customers, and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth operations and customer satisfaction

Candidate Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior warehouse role, preferably in a chemical or industrial environment
• Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities
• German B2 level and above
• Commitment to upholding safety standards and promoting a culture of safety in the workplace
• Experience with using IT programs, such as Microsoft Word & Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping
• Effective communication skills, both verbal and written
• Basic Outlook and SAP skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities
• Experience with stock control systems
• Previous experience working in a chemical warehouse environment would be preferred
• A forklift truck license would be an advantage but not essential
