As part of the Asset Management Team, the Verification Engineer's role is to assist the Asset Manager Newbuild with ensuring the data being entered into the Planned Maintenance System (PMS) of selected new build vessels is of the highest possible quality. Based in Papenburg, Germany, this role will involve physical and theoretical verification of all assets fitted to the vessel during the build of the ship and cross referencing against the data entered into the PMS. Furthermore the Verification Engineer is responsible to review maintenance tasks, spare part data being entered, plays an active role in organizing ships documentation and is involved in the installation of condition based monitoring systems. During the build the Verification Engineer is the first point of contact for the brands, ships crew and the yard.
Job Requirements
The key responsibilities for this role include:
- Responsible for verification of fitted assets to new build vessels.
- Collection and organisation of required machinery details which are then used as verification of ships planned maintenance database accuracy.
- Develops and implements suitable templates and standardised ways of working to ensure data collection and verification processes are consistent.
- To become involved with maintenance plan development for new build vessels as directed by the Manager, Asset Management.
- Support the Asset Management Team in strategic initiatives related to maintenance and technical inventory
- To support conformity of the asset management database and PMS with relevant legislation and optimal safety/reliability of the fleet.
- To keep appraised of current and changing asset management, stock and inventory optimisation operational practices in the Carnival Corporation/industry in general and receive and act on feedback on the performance of vessels in service.
- Create maintenance data in accordance to makers tasks / IMO regulations / internal company regulations / HESS regulations
Please note that this position is an IN OFFICE role and you will need to work onsite in Papenburg, Germany.

To be successful in this role you will need to have demonstrable experience in shipping and/or shipbuilding industry with operational knowledge of modern vessel layout, machinery functions and planned maintenance systems.
Ideally you will have previous involvement in new large cruise vessel construction in a shipyard and involvement with inspecting to Class regulations and build specifications. Alongside this, experience in dealing with suppliers, shipyard management and subcontractors is desirable.
You will hold a Degree in Marine/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or equivalent. Licensed Marine Engineer is desirable.
