ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Project Manager for Tires & Tubes Mountain, you will be the driving force behind Specialized's off-road tire and tube strategy. In this role, you will shape the future of our Mountain product line by combining technical understanding, rider empathy, and business acumen. You'll connect global teams, engineers, designers, marketers, and sales experts, to deliver premium products that enhance the rider experience for every mountain biker, from trail enthusiasts to elite athletes.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE A DIFFERENCE:

• Develop a clear vision and strategy for the Tires & Tubes MTN product program, aligned with the company strategy and market dynamics.
• Lead and coordinate the activities of the Tires & Tubes development team across global teammates, engineers, marketing, designers, and regional sales organizations.
• Initiate and guide the creation of product and design briefs for new tires and tubes, based on category vision, company priorities, market research, sales trends, and internal/external feedback.
• Maintain a line strategy and lifecycle plan that maximizes ROI and supports a healthy product mix for our global dealer network.
• Collaborate closely with the Bicycle OEM Team to equip Specialized bikes and maintain a balanced OEM and Aftermarket program.
• Partner with regional sales teams to achieve market share and margin growth objectives.
• Plan and manage development projects within the defined category budget and timeline.
• Support the creation of pricing strategies and identify opportunities for improved profitability.
• Communicate seasonal initiatives internally (Marketing, Global Markets, etc.) to support catalogs, online platforms, and social media storytelling.
• Present the product line internally (executive team, sales teams) and externally (retailers, media, events) to drive engagement and understanding.
• Build strong relationships with global athletes and regional test riders to validate performance and guide innovation.
• Represent Specialized at global events, including retailer meetings, product launches, dealer visits, and athlete testing sessions.
   

WHAT YOU NEED TO WIN

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, Industrial Design, or a related field. A Master's degree is a plus.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in product management, project management, or a related role within the cycling, sporting goods, or outdoor industry.
• Fluent in English; German is a strong advantage. Additional European languages are a plus.
• Solid understanding of product development processes, project planning, and lifecycle management. Strong data interpretation and decision-making skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with PLM or project management software.
• Passionate about mountain biking with a deep connection to the rider experience—understanding performance needs from amateur to elite level.
• Appreciation for great design that resonates with the core MTN rider community. Experience or skills in industrial or graphic design are a plus, particularly for tire tread design development.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills with the ability to work effectively across global teams and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
