The role

We're hiring 
two
 Germany-based 
Application Engineers
 for a confidential Tier-1 supplier serving leading European OEM programs. You'll sit in 
Düren
 with access to a dedicated 
office and laboratory
, act as the 
technical interface
 to OEM projects from development through series, and run/coordinate 
failure analysis
 and lab work. Day-to-day you'll work with the client team; the legal employer initially is our 
EOR partner, Safeguard
. A future 
German legal entity
 is planned; timing depends on group planning and the local team build-out.

What you'll do

  • Own technical interface to German/European OEM programs across development, validation and series.
  • Lead 
    sample & failure analysis
     (fracture, corrosion, wear), plan/execute tests using 
    SEM/EDS
    , 
    metallography
    , 
    mechanical testing
    ; apply 
    FTA/FMEA
     and issue root-cause reports.
  • Operate and maintain the 
    Germany Engineering Service Center
     lab; ensure methods, calibration and HSE compliance.
  • Capture front-line technology needs from OEMs and drive joint work with universities and test institutes; coordinate external trials and equipment approvals.
  • Join customer 
    quality meetings
    ; provide expert diagnostics and corrective actions.
  • Bridge to HQ specialists (materials/process/simulation) to mobilize fast answers and resources.

What you bring

  • Bachelor's or higher in 
    Automotive Engineering
    , 
    Mechanical Engineering
    , or 
    Materials/Metallurgy
    .
  • Hands-on failure analysis toolkit: 
    SEM/EDS
    , metallography, mechanical testing; structured RCA (
    FMEA/FTA/8D
    ).
  • Solid exposure to 
    OEM/Tier-1
     development & series support; lab or test-equipment ownership is a plus.

  • Languages:

  • Role A: 
    Native-level German
     and fluent English.

  • Role B: 
    Mandarin (Chinese)
     and fluent English; 
    long-term right to work in Germany
     required.

  • Strong stakeholder skills; comfortable in quality meetings and cross-site collaboration.

  • Willing to be 
    on-site in Düren
     with travel to OEM/test partners as needed.
