We are now looking for a

Software Development Engineer in .NET (m/f/d)
(C#) to join the R&D team at RT Navigation in Hamburg, Germany. Our teams work on Cloud and Navigation software for the maritime industry. We support a hybrid work model.

What you will be doing?
Your work includes the development of the Navigation software, which is used both onboard the vessels and as a part of the navigation training center. You will satisfy upcoming certification requirements and adopt the software to the new customer's needs.

As a Software Development Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

• Participation in backend development
• Work with modern frameworks like .NET, React (Python if applicable)
• Handle DevOps tasks, including cloud-based infrastructure management and automation using Microsoft Azure.
• Configure and manage authentication and access control with Azure Entra ID.
• Ensure high code quality, participate in the Code Review
• Develop and support software in a Windows environment.
• Creating unit tests
• Maintain and improve legacy systems, including 5+ year-old .NET (C#) codebases.
• Participate in the Agile activities

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

• Bachelor degree and 3\5+ work experience in a relevant or related field
• Good knowledge in .NET (C#), Windows, Microsoft Azure, GitHub actions
• Solid knowledge of SQL (MS SQL, PostgreSQL), and database design principle
• Practical DevOps skills, including experience with Microsoft Azure, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitHub Actions), and infrastructure automation.
• Familiarity with authentication and security tools, such as Azure Entra ID.
• Proficiency in using source control systems, debuggers, profilers, and other development tools.
• Experience with multithreading
• Strong analytical thinking skills to troubleshoot and resolve complex issues
• Technical and communication English
• Good communication skills

Will be a plus:

• Experience with maritime navigation will be an advantage
• Knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Knowledge of NoSQL database
• Knowledge of Python (Django, FastAPI)
• Knowledge of React
• Experience with Agile methodologies, particularly SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework)
• Familiarity with continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) practices
