Traineeship - Maritime Finance

If you're looking for an exciting job, our programme will be the stepstone to boost your career. Tackle diverse and challenging finance projects in an international environment – and lead the way in finding effective financial solutions for our assets. We work with you to customise our modular 12 to 14 month traineeship in line with your interests and career plans.
Our programme includes:
Module 1
Introduction to maritime controlling topics:
- Sea voyage controlling: Planning, monitoring and controlling of sea voyages
- Project controlling: Planning, monitoring and controlling large-scale maritime logistics projects
- Fonds controlling: Planning, monitoring and controlling vessel budgets
- Shipyard controlling: Preparing and following up on vessel class inspections with shipyard stays
- Corporate controlling: Planning, monitoring and controlling ship; management activities and affiliated companies
Maritime Services − get an overview of the company group's operational units:
- Introduction to the heavy lift business: Learn more about SAL/Intermarine − operations, project management and chartering
- Speed dating with different ship management service units, such as Maritime IT, Crewing, Purchase, QHSE, Flag, Maritime Insurance and Technical Units
International Expedition
- Visit one of our overseas offices in Houston, Schiedam or São Paulo, and learn more about our affiliated companies Intermarine and the JSI Alliance
- Board one of our heavy lift vessels and visit different ports around the globe as part of the crew
Your profile
- You hold a B.Sc. or Master's degree in business administration with focus on controlling, finance or audit / accounting or other financial education
- You are ready to take on responsibility and are able to work independently
- You thrive in a multinational team environment where teamwork is essential
- Your level of German and English language should be C1

About us
Founded in Bremen in 1989, the Harren Group focuses on the entire value chain around the vessel. The Group spans five operational divisions – Chartering, Engineering, Logistics, Ship Management and Renewable Energies. Harren is committed to carbon-neutral shipping and is working to convert the entire fleet. The goal is zero-emission shipping across the Group by 2035.
The fleet under management currently consists of 65 units all key vessel types. The family-owned company operates 25 offices in 23 countries around the world, employing around 465 people ashore and more than 2,000 crew members on board its ships.
