Huawei's Nuremberg Research Center is responsible for Network Energy Advanced Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning.

The Power Conversion Technology Laboratory within the Huawei's Nuremberg Research Center is responsible for Advanced Digital Power Technology Research, Architecture Evolution Design and Strategic Technology Planning, and plays an important role in the Huawei Digital Power business in the design and development of power converters and control systems for applications such as PV Solar & Battery Energy Storage Field, Data Centers, Electric Vehicle, and Embedded Power Supply.

Senior Engineer Power Electronics on Testing and Maintenance  (m/f/d)

Your mission

• Circuit Design and Development: Design power electronic circuits, including converters (DC-DC, AC-DC), inverters, and filters for UPS systems and EV chargers.
  Determine product or system requirements based on application needs.
  Use engineering software (like MATLAB or SPICE) to simulate, design, and analyze circuit performance.
• Testing and Analysis: Inspect and test the reliability and safety of electronic devices, products, and systems. Analyze test data to refine and improve designs for efficiency and user experience. Conduct verification and validation of new converter and control algorithms for both UPS and EV charger applications.
• Problem Solving and Maintenance: Troubleshoot and resolve hardware and software issues in power electronic systems.
  Perform site visits for maintenance, fault diagnosis, and repair of UPS and charging systems.
• Research and Compliance: Stay updated on evolving EV charging and UPS standards and regulations (such as UL, CE, and IEC).
  Generate innovative ideas and protect them with intellectual property (IP) fillings.
  Support the development of technology roadmaps for next-generation UPS and EV charging solutions.
• Collaboration: Work with external research institutes and universities to develop novel power electronic solutions.
  Collaborate with sales teams, distributors, and customers to provide technical advice and support.

Your areas of expertise

• You hold a Bachelor or Master degree in power electronics / electrical, electronic engineering (or similar) field
• Extensive experience in development or Maintenance in UPS, EV charging or telecom power domain
• Be familiar with one or more quality methods, such as 8D, 5Why, QCC, and 6sigma
• Good teamwork and communication skills
• Have a strong sense of responsibility and desire for knowledge, and be able to improve products and processes by summarizing
• Fluent in English written and spoken and ready for occasional business travels related to ongoing projects
