Quastify is a young but growing startup that combines quantum chemistry, statistical mechanics, and machine learning to develop a customer-centric chemical discovery platform.

Role Description

We are currently looking to hire a Scientist contributing to our technology platform and

directly supporting customer projects. This role will strengthen our team and bring in key

expertise in state-of-the-art machine learning models. The successful candidate is expected to

independently deliver projects, developing simulation and AI-driven workflows. You will

ideate, contribute to, and develop new technologies grounded in computational chemistry and

machine learning. You will communicate with our internal stakeholders and external partners,

assisting them in understanding and implementing the most relevant technologies. In an

environment that strongly values open scientific discussions, constructive criticism, and

decisive action, you will be part of an interdisciplinary and global team.

This role can be operated from Heidelberg (Germany), Vienna (Austria), or Luxembourg area.

Qualifications

  • PhD degree in Computational or Theoretical Physics or Chemistry, or a related field, based on quantum mechanics or statistical mechanics.
  • Experience in developing and using data-driven models, e.g. for interatomic potentials and machine learning expertise with natural science context.
  • Numerical computing proficiency, and strong coding skills, e.g., python or other.
  • Strong publication record in scientific modeling, deep learning, or a similar area.
  • Excellent at communicating and operating in an international team.
  • Bonus: Hands-on development experience in machine learning force fields for materials, chemicals, or biomolecules.
  • Bonus: Hands-on research on molecular entities in gas, solution, and solid state.
