Technical Product Manager

We are Metrify Smart Metering, Germany's largest competitive smart metering operator, and a new strategic spin-off initiative by Enpal.

Our service portfolio covers all aspects of metering operations: from electricity meter installation and market communication to data management and clearing. 

While Metrify emerged from Enpal, we now operate independently in the market, serving a broad range of commercial customers, energy suppliers, and municipal utilities. 

About the Team  

You'll be joining a team of 2 Product Managers and you will be reporting to the Head of Product. You will focus on the Operations domain, working on projects from scratch, collaborating closely with non-technical stakeholders and the tech team. 

We are looking for a Product Manager (f/m/d) to join Metrify Smart Metering and take end-to-end ownership of one of our core digital products. 

In this role, you will work closely with engineers, operations teams, regulatory experts, and external partners to turn complex market processes into seamless and scalable software products. You will help shape the infrastructure behind Germany's decentralized energy transition by designing and scaling digital solutions for the rollout and operation of smart meters.

Responsibilities

1. You will own the full lifecycle of one digital product in our smart metering platform, from initial discovery to rollout and ongoing optimization, defining interfaces, workflows, and system integrations 
2. You will translate regulatory, operational, and customer requirements into structured product roadmaps and actionable user stories 
3. You will prioritize the product backlog and make clear trade-offs between speed, value, and compliance 
4. You will collaborate cross-functionally across tech, operations, and legal to ensure smooth and timely delivery 
5. You will define and track success metrics (e.g. product reliability, data accuracy, partner adoption) 
6. You will continuously gather feedback from users and internal stakeholders to improve usability and performance 
7. You will support strategic initiatives to scale our smart metering infrastructure from tens of thousands to millions of devices 

1. You gained at least 2 years of experience in product management, preferably in a B2B or infrastructure-related environment. 
2. You are experienced in navigating complex domains involving regulation, data, and systems integration, and working with cross-functional teams, especially engineering and data. 
3. Familiarity with energy markets, smart metering, regulatory communication processes, or API design and data pipelines is nice to have.  
4. You communicate clearly in English. Knowledge of German is a plus. 
5. You embody agile values and take ownership of identifying the problem, defining what needs to be built, and shaping the solution as it evolves.
