The Role

We're seeking a
Principal Software Engineer
with deep expertise in
Kubernetes
to drive the evolution of our cloud-native platform. You'll take ownership of designing and developing Kubernetes Operators and infrastructure automation tools that ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of our SaaS offering. This role offers a high level of technical autonomy and influence — ideal for an engineer who thrives on solving complex distributed systems challenges, mentoring others, and shaping the architecture of enterprise-grade cloud services.

What You'll Do

  • Design, build, and maintain
    Kubernetes Operators
    and supporting automation for a large-scale SaaS platform.
  • Architect resilient systems across
    multi-region and multi-cloud
    environments (GCP and AWS).
  • Collaborate with product and platform teams to define requirements, deliver new features, and optimise reliability.
  • Continuously improve the codebase with a focus on performance, observability, and security.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and provide escalation support for critical production systems.
  • Mentor engineers and champion best practices in cloud-native design, infrastructure automation, and continuous delivery.

What You Bring

  • Strong experience in
    Go
    (or equivalent language for cloud-native systems).
  • Deep understanding of
    Kubernetes internals
    and experience building or maintaining Kubernetes Operators.
  • Proven track record working with
    cloud service providers
    (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
  • A pragmatic, hands-on mindset — balancing long-term architectural vision with day-to-day delivery.
  • A collaborative approach and genuine enthusiasm for mentoring and sharing knowledge.
  • Ownership mentality: "You build it, you run it."

Nice to Have

  • Experience with
    Controller-Runtime

  • Knowledge of multi-region or multi-cloud deployments.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, observability tooling, and infrastructure as code.
