Your tasks- Investigate lipid metabolism in kidnex physiology and pathophysiology
- Focus on mechanisms such as lipotoxicity, lipid droplet formation, and membrane contact sites between the endoplasmic reticulum, lipid droplets and mitochondria under conditions of excel fatty acid uptake
- Use of cell culture and, potentially, mouse models to study cell biology of lipid metabolism, particularly in the kidney
- Participation and presentation in regular meetings
- Contribute to publications ad grant proposals
- Solid ecpertise in molecular cell biology
- Prior experience in lipid biology (advantageous but not required)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- High motivation and ability to work independently with a strong work ethic
- Proficiency in English (international lab environment)
- Goal-oriented, individual training and development opportunities
- Working with the latest techniques / technical equipment
- Flexible working hours within the framework of flexitime
- (Partial) project management / project responsibility possible if suitable
- A PhD position within the framework of the SFB1638 Collaborative Research Center on Membrane Remodeling )
