A long-standing client of ours, a global leader in wireless communications technology, is looking to appoint a Principal RF Power Amplifier Designer to join their European research hub in Munich. This team is responsible for developing advanced RF architectures that directly shape the performance of future mobile terminal products.

As a Principal RF Power Amplifier Designer, you'll focus on the design and innovation of high-efficiency, wideband PA solutions, working at the forefront of RF technology research. The work is challenging, collaborative, and will see your designs influencing millions of end-user devices worldwide.

Responsibilities

  • Drive research into wide-band power amplifier architectures to support multi-band RF transmission in mobile platforms
  • Design high-efficiency PAs including Envelope-Tracking, Doherty, and load-insensitive architectures
  • Develop and optimise wideband power supply modulators and supporting circuitry
  • Ensure robust PA performance through simulation, validation, and lab testing
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across Europe and Asia on advanced RF solutions

What You'll Bring

  • MSc or PhD in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • Over 10 years' experience in RF power amplifier design, preferably for mobile terminal applications
  • Hands-on expertise in MMIC circuit design and RF simulation tools
  • Deep technical knowledge in:
  • Envelope-Tracking and Doherty PA design
  • Load-insensitive PA architectures
  • Wideband modulator design
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to work effectively in multi-disciplinary, global teams
  • Willingness to travel occasionally within Europe and to China
