The IT Director will play a critical role in a major digital transformation programme, supporting ongoing acquisition integration, technology standardisation, and the replacement of legacy systems. This role is responsible for ensuring that technology is effectively embedded across business units and functions, while maintaining robust and fit-for-purpose business-as-usual (BAU) IT services.

The IT Directord will deliver a single, integrated IT service aligned with group standards. Working closely with senior stakeholders across IT, digital, innovation, and R&D, the role will provide strategic and operational leadership to enable scalable growth in a buy-and-build environment.

Key Responsibilities

Technology Leadership & Strategy

  • Act as the central point of contact for all technical and development-related matters .
  • Support the group-wide digital transformation strategy, including legacy system replacement and application integration.
  • Contribute to the Group IT and security strategies, ensuring compliance with regulatory and data confidentiality requirements.
  • Stay at the forefront of emerging technologies, proactively identifying, testing, and delivering innovative solutions.

Delivery & Operations

  • Ensure the delivery of a high-quality BAU IT service with clearly defined metrics and SLAs.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate technical and delivery risks across projects and operational services.
  • Ensure high standards of technical quality through appropriate testing and validation processes.
  • Work closely with Platform Product Owners to align technical and functional testing outcomes.

Project & Stakeholder Management

  • Communicate effectively with international stakeholders, providing clear visibility on progress, risks, and dependencies from a technical perspective.
  • Coordinate development activities, aligning internal requirements with external partners and vendors.
  • Actively participate in cross-functional and group-level initiatives, maintaining a consistent technical perspective.
  • Provide relevant technical input to R&D teams to support efficient and scalable development.

Business Partnership

  • Collaborate with business stakeholders to identify opportunities for process optimisation and digitisation.
  • Support the integration of newly acquired businesses into a standardised IT operating model.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal teams and external vendors to ensure effective delivery.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Project Management, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Approximately 5+ years' experience in an IT Director or senior IT leadership role within a multi-country environment.
  • Proven experience leading digital transformation and systems integration initiatives.
  • Strong project and programme management capabilities.
  • Experience operating in regulated environments with high levels of data security and confidentiality.
  • Fluency in
    German and English
    , both written and spoken.
