Ocean Export Manager (m/w/d)

Focus of the position

  • Leadership & Organization: Management of the operational Ocean Export area, including employee planning, training and decision-making
  • Communication: Support of customers, suppliers and authorities worldwide as well as close cooperation with internal departments
  • Negotiations: Price and contract discussions with shipping companies, freight forwarders and service providers to ensure efficient processes
  • Operational business: Management and handling of sea freight shipments, documentation and compliance with legal regulations (incl. US customs)
  • Quality & Compliance: Monitoring processes, handling complaints, and ensuring compliance and audits
  • Reporting & Development: Creation of reports and KPI evaluations as well as co-design and optimization of internal processes
  • Job Management Functions: Solid expertise in P&L management as well as responsibility for monthly and annual financial statements (planning, monitoring and theses)

Requirements for the position

  • Qualification: Completed training/studies in the field of freight forwarding and logistics or comparable qualification
  • Professional experience: several years of professional experience in the field of sea freight export including at least 2 years of management experience
  • Expertise: In-depth knowledge of customs and dangerous goods regulations, cost control, budget responsibility
  • Personal characteristics: Goal-oriented way of working, affinity for numbers, enthusiasm for cooperation, hands-on mentality as well as initiative and a sense of responsibility
  • Language skills: Very good written and spoken German and English skills
  • Software Capabilities: MS Office, C1 skills
