The Vice President, Business Unit Manager will have P&L responsibility including financial, strategy, production operations, engineering, sales & marketing and IT for a business unit.  The leader will have the responsibility for planning, directing, coordinating and controlling the activities of the organization to obtain optimal efficiency and economy of operation to achieve profitability of the business unit. 

This position reports directly to the Advanced Motion Solutions SVP/General Manager.

Achieve revenue, profit and other financial targets set for the business:

Own the complete P&L for the business – manage the revenue and cost side of the income statementBridge the gaps between functional teams - sales, marketing, service, operations, supply chain management, finance, HR, ITDouble sales within the business cycle through both acquisition and organic growthDrive operating profit to targeted levels, as agreed in strategic planEnsure plans and forecasts are met or exceeded consistentlyAggressively drive working capital, cash flow and other key metrics

Drive Strategy development, Market Expansion and Key Relationships Globally:

Develop and execute the 3-5 year business strategyExpand in core markets to ensure organic growth plans are achievedLeverage Value Analysis/Value Engineering to create more value from existing products and accelerate growthEnsure product development roadmap is robust and products are delivered in a timely fashion to meet market demands"Dollarize" products to ensure Company and customers get full value for their investmentManage highest level customer relationships with key customersExpand geographically to capitalize on global growth opportunities

Execute Acquisition Strategy:

Develop the acquisition strategy for the business unitIdentify potential acquisition targets, working closely with Divisional Leadership and Corporate Group Development team – Target identification, build model, due diligence, integration plansLead integration of acquired business into Company
Drive team to achieve synergies identified in each deal

Drive Operational Excellence:

Leverage own expertise to ensure thorough solutions to solve operational issuesBring rigor and focus to operational improvements – ensure strong financial & discipline across businessDrive productivity gains and cost improvements to achieve operating profit targetLeverage global capabilities to decrease production and supply management costsMaximize material flow and inventory turns to drive down working capitalOffset incremental investments with cost reductions in existing businessLead implementation of six sigma and LEANLeverage Value Analysis to drive cost reductions and complement company initiatives

Requirements for Consideration

P&L responsibility for a highly technical businessExpert knowledge of financial analysis and reportingProficiency in developing and implementing tactical and strategic plansProficiency in Supply Chain ManagementDemonstrated track record of driving strong employee engagementStrong technical problem solving and advanced management skillsWorking understanding of Lean Six Sigma processesCustomer orientedFormal Education Requirement: BS Degree in Engineering8-10 years of P&L experience managing an international/global company
