Location
: Hybrid - 3 days in Berlin / 2 days Remote

Role:

  • End-to-end ownership of backend services, including design, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
  • Development and enhancement of APIs and backend components, using modern technologies and industry best practices.
  • Contribution to architectural discussions and long-term system design decisions.
  • Close collaboration with cross-functional teams (engineering, product, operations) to deliver high-impact solutions.
  • Continuous improvement of development workflows, tooling, and engineering practices.
  • Troubleshooting, debugging, and resolving production issues in live systems.

Requirements

  • Several years of professional experience in backend development (ideally with Python and Django or similar frameworks)
  • Ideally experience as a Fullstack-Engineer / Frontend as well - with React and Typescript Experience
  • Strong understanding of API design, cloud-native architectures, and modern software engineering principles
  • Experience working with Docker, AWS, or comparable cloud platforms.
  • Proven ability to independently lead and deliver complex technical projects from concept to completion
  • Solid experience identifying technical priorities, evaluating trade-offs, and distinguishing real business value from hype
  • Strong debugging and problem-solving skills in production environments
  • Excellent communication skills in English; experience working in distributed or remote teams is beneficial
