Role SummaryAt Rivian and Volkswagen Group Technologies we have the exciting challenge of building and integrating a core technology platform into multiple brands across many different regions. Critical to the success of this endeavor are the software integration engineers who serve as our critical interface and system advocate with domain teams across the vehicle. As a software integration engineer you will be the go-to person for system understanding, issue triage, system development, and escalation and as a result have opportunities to work across the entire vehicle system.
Responsibilities- Collaborate with software developers to integrate new software features at the vehicle level
- Lead efforts to diagnose field issues and work cross functionally with various teams to drive resolutions
- Define and execute vehicle test cases for new features
- Creating test scripts for post processing vehicle data
- Gather data from communication systems commonly used in embedded systems like CAN and Ethernet as well as from vehicle telemetry stored in the cloud
- Track feature maturity and develop comprehensive catalog of regression test cases to ensure quality of released software
- Root-cause bugs identified during test and integration; propose robust solutions to address issues identified
- Bring up software to support new vehicle programs
- A degree in either Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Software Engineering
- 3+ years of experience working with control systems – automotive or aerospace experience preferred
- Working experience with communication bus monitoring tools (Vector CANalyzer, PCAN or equivalent)
- Strong understanding of electromechanical systems
- Familiar with EV subsystems especially Battery Management System and Thermal Management System
- Working experience with software calibration tools (Vector CANape or equivalent)
- Experience coding in Python and C/C++
- Ability to thrive under pressure and apply creative and critical thinking to deliver exceptional results
- Good team player with excellent communication skills
