Overview

We are seeking an experienced
Senior Group Controller
to join our Hamburg-based head office of a dynamic, private equity–backed group. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving financial transparency, supporting strategic decision-making, and strengthening the group's reporting and control framework as it continues its growth trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

Group Controlling & Reporting

  • Lead the monthly, quarterly, and annual
    consolidation of group financial statements
    under IFRS (or local GAAP as applicable).
  • Develop and maintain
    robust management reporting
    processes and tools to provide timely and accurate insight into performance across all business units.
  • Support the
    CFO and Private Equity investors
    with high-quality analysis, board materials, and KPI dashboards.
  • Ensure compliance with financial policies, internal controls, and regulatory requirements.

Performance Management

  • Partner closely with business unit controllers and management teams to analyse performance, identify trends, and challenge results.
  • Support
    budgeting, forecasting, and long-term financial planning
    processes at group level.
  • Lead or support
    financial integration of acquisitions
    , ensuring alignment with group standards.

Process & System Improvements

  • Drive
    process optimisation and automation
    within the controlling and reporting function.
  • Support the implementation or enhancement of
    ERP and consolidation systems
    .
  • Establish and continuously improve the
    group's financial governance framework
    .

Strategic Projects

  • Act as a key finance business partner to the CFO and PE shareholders on
    value creation initiatives
    , refinancing, and potential M&A activities.
  • Contribute to
    cash flow management
    , working capital analysis, and scenario modelling.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree in
    Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
    ; ideally supplemented by a CPA, ACCA, or equivalent qualification.
  • Minimum of
    8–10 years' experience
    in group controlling, ideally within a
    PE-backed, multinational, or complex corporate environment
    .
  • Strong knowledge of
    IFRS consolidation
    ,
    financial modelling
    , and
    management reporting
    .
  • Experience in
    post-merger integration
    and/or
    financial due diligence
    advantageous.
  • Proven track record of working closely with
    senior management and private equity investors
    .
  • Advanced
    Excel
    and
    ERP/consolidation system
    skills (e.g. SAP, LucaNet, OneStream, or similar).
  • Fluent in
    English and German
    (written and spoken).
