You'll work with satellite imagery, bioacoustic data, and environmental indicators as part of our growing data science team. About Hula Earth
Biodiversity has declined 70% in the last 50 years, yet funding and accurate data for nature investments remain limited. Hula Earth tackles this gap with tech-driven solutions, combining satellite insights and our proprietary IoT sensor network to make nature investments scalable, actionable, and measurable.

Aufgaben

Role Impact

  • Develop ML models for environmental data analysis and bioacoustics
  • Engineer efficient data pipelines for complex multi-modal data streams (audio, sensor, satellite)
  • Extract actionable environmental insights for our customers from large-scale environmental data
  • Collaborate with senior scientists and engineers on core algorithms

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis

  • Develop and improve species detection algorithms
  • Process and analyze earth observation and sensor data
  • Create data-driven environmental health indicators
  • Validate and test ML models

Development

  • Write clean, documented Python code
  • Build and maintain data processing pipelines
  • Drive real-time analysis by optimizing critical data processing paths
  • Implement scientific papers and methods
  • Contribute to our core ML framework

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with senior scientists on environmental research
  • Support hardware team with edge ML models
  • Help improve data collection methods
  • Document findings and methods
Qualifikation

Requirements

  • 2-4 years data science experience
  • Strong Python programming skills
  • Broad (Software) Engineering skills to be flexible and independent
  • Experience with ML frameworks (PyTorch/TensorFlow)
  • Knowledge of geospatial data processing
  • Nice to have: Background in environmental science or similar
