Role Description

• You take charge of the conscientious organization and management of mechanical/ship systems production processes on board and ensure all necessary conditions for the production trades and partner companies of the department.
• You prepare schedules and define production workflows.
• You initiate and monitor occupational safety measures and coordinate the construction site.
• You assess, document, and estimate the progress of mechanical production.
• Preparing production concepts during the quotation and order phase is part of your routine.
• You organize and manage inspections with customers, classification societies, and flag states.
• You actively participate in the planning and supervision of installation, testing, and commissioning of mechanical ship systems and components.
• You coordinate and implement the contractually defined scope of services based on the work list.
• You monitor schedules, quality, and budgets of your own trades and partner companies.
• You specify, request, and report the need for external services in coordination with project management.
• Invoice control and delivery approval of partner companies are also part of your responsibilities.
• You support purchasing and project management in handling defect notifications.
• You assist project management in the specification and calculation of work packages involving in-house and external services.
• International business trips are part of the role.

Qualifications

• Completed studies in mechanical engineering or an equivalent qualification.
• Several years of practical experience with mechanical systems and components on ships.
• Qualification to take responsibility for mechanical systems on board.
• Experience in the technical leadership of employees.
• Good knowledge of common MS Office applications.
• Strong assertiveness, excellent communication skills, and enjoyment of teamwork and collaboration with an international customer base.
• Commitment, initiative, and a high degree of flexibility and reliability.
• Ability to work, act, and make decisions independently and in a solution-oriented manner.
• Good command of English, both spoken and written.
• Strong awareness of safety, responsibility, quality, and costs.
• Class B driving license.
