The Corporate Credit Risk unit at BBVA Frankfurt is an integral part of the Global Risk Management - EMEA team. Its main function is to deliver best-in-class credit analysis of corporate clients, monitoring the local portfolio and ensuring the safety and soundness of wholesale lending through risk policy management.

**About the job**:
As a Corporate Credit Risk Associate you will be responsible for:

- Assessing the credit and financial strength of BBVA’s clients by performing fundamental credit analysis of counterparties, using both quantitative and qualitative factors.
- Preparation, submission for approval and presentation at relevant Credit Committees of Financial Programs through relevant discretion processes.
- Approving utilization of sanctioned limits within discretion.
- Ensuring the establishment and effectiveness of credit policies and risk limits as well as compliance with risk appetite.
- Supporting and providing guidance to other units within BBVA.

**What are we looking for?**

**Previous experience and technical knowledge**:

- Demonstrable financial services experience of at least 2 years, including credit experience in Banking, Consulting, Credit Risk Management, or equivalent.
- Strong knowledge of Credit Processes.
- Strong analytical skills, including understanding of key financial components (liquidity position, leverage profile, etc.) and the ability to form independent opinions on credit, recognizing emerging risks.
- Solid Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) skills.
- Understanding of banking products and sustainability is desirable.

**Languages**:

- English: fluent.
- German and Spanish are highly valuable.

- Strong inter-personal and verbal communication skills. Should be at ease in communicating with internal and external stakeholders within risk management and other divisions.
- Strong organization and time management skills. Able to work under time pressure.
- Strong problem solving and decision-making skills.
