The Regional Computing Centre (RRZK) is a central institution of the
University of Cologne, which as a service and competence centre, stri
- ves for technical and scientific cooperation on a state, federal as well
as international level. Cologne Competence Centre for Research Data
unit of the University of Cologne under the direction of the three part
- ner institutions Division 7 Research Management, the University and
City Library, and the RRZK. The activity takes place in the environment
of the most current scientific (large-scale) research projects.“

YOUR TASKS
- Design, development and maintenance of a research data
management infrastructure from the hardware on for the
specific research project in cooperation with C3RDM.
- Advice, support and training of the members of the responsible
research center regarding the correct handling of research data.
- Organizing and conducting workshops in
the context of the research project
- Active participation in events and committees
on research data management
- Publication and presentation of research
results in workstores, journals, etc.

YOUR PROFILE
- Completed university studies (doctorate preferred, at least
diploma or masters‘s degree) in natural sciences, informatics or
alternatively another course of studies with additional several
years of professional experience in the IT environment
- Practical experience in setting up and
operating professional IT systems
- Experience with technologies in the research data
management environment, e.g. databases, container
technologies, storage systems or optimization tools
- Preferably knowledge of metadata standards, data organization
- Strong interest in research data management and open science
- Excellent communication skills, especially in the scientific and

interdisciplinary context Fluent written and spoken English

The position is to be filled as soon as possible on a full-time basis
(39,83 hours per week). Upon agreement it can also be filled on a
part-time basis to facilitate the work/family balance. Usually the
positions are limited to several years (depending on the project at
least two years with the option of extension). If the applicant meets
the relevant wage requirements and personal qualifications, the
salary is based on remuneration group 13 TV-L of the pay scale for
the German public sector.
