Working Student Flight Control

We at ERC are exclusively developing an eVTOL (electric Vertical Take-off and Landing Aircraft) that transports patients three times faster than an ambulance and at one-third of the cost of a helicopter. We work hard to achieve this goal - with passion, a pioneering spirit, and strong partners, our first demonstrator successfully took off in 2023. "We are ready for take-off, are you ready to fly with us?" We are looking for a passionate working student to join our Flight Control team. As a working student, you will deal with deployment of the developed flight control algorithms on the Pixhawk 6X board for a scaled prototype UAV. Furthermore, you will support in flight testing and flight test data evaluation for the scaled prototype. Working in our team means to learn something new every day, work with many different disciplines and teams and actively contribute to shaping tomorrow’s aviation. YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES - Manage deployment of flight control software on the Pixhawk 6X hardware. - Setup toolchain for data logging on Pixhawk 6X - Setup connection and interaction of the software deployed on Pixhawk 6x with Remote Control Hardware - Support in flight tests and flight test data evaluation YOUR PROFILE you should - Be currently enrolled in a university program in Master of Science in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering or a comparable technical course of study - Have a good knowledge of MATLAB/Simulink - Have hands-on experience in flying UAVs or RC aircraft - Generally be interested in aviation and flight control development in particular - Be self-driven and have a structured way of working - Be passionate and curious about electric aviation and novel aircraft concepts - Have good English language skills Moreover, we appreciate if you - have experience in at least one of these programming languages: Python, C++, HTML/Javascript - are familiar with fundamentals of electronics YOUR BENEFITS - A young, highly motivated and passionate team - Flat hierarchies and learning-from-mistakes approach - Strong company culture in an international environment - The possibility to shape the future with us - Regular team events - Flexible working hours - Excellent career opportunities and regular feedback - Weekly fresh fruit and beverages - Supported canteen service - Modern newly renovated office - Very good access to public transport and free parking spaces
