Job Description Summary

The Senior Manufacturing Lean Leader will provide tactical and operational support within the Berlin Manufacturing facility in the development and sustainment of a Lean Manufacturing Strategy aligned with the business Goals.

This by working with management team and acting as champion of Kaizen and facilitating Kaizen events to drive improvements, using Pull, Kanban, Standard Work, 5S and Single-Piece Flow.

**Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for continuous improvement, being an innovator of positive change that impacts Safety, Quality, Deliver, Cost and Maintenance.
- Inspire shop transformation through monitoring and coaching of site wide Daily Management and 5S program.
- Drives execution of Lean principles and all related initiatives such as Kaizen, structured problem solving and other Best in Class” continuous improvement processes.
- Lead various cross-functional teams of hourly and salaried individuals in support of Kaizen events.
- Create and improve Value Stream Maps to find opportunities for production/process enhancement to achieve organizational goals.
- Support the preparation of Berlin specific Lean Roadmap, implement Lean Manufacturing strategy and initiatives including set-up reduction, workplace organization, standardized work, process/workflow improvements, visual management, and inventory reduction.
- Improve Lean visual management methods and through Daily Management to improve SQDCM(Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, Maintenance).
- Analyze problems, account for variances, drive for root cause and implement improved methods and procedures, create, review and update improvement plans.
- Review the existing project planning and shop floor planning process, identify opportunities for improvement and monitor and support the implementation of initiatives.

**Requirements**:

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university and direct hands-on experience in manufacturing.
- Demonstrated experience in a production manufacturing role responsible for driving process improvements.
- Proven experience in conducting Kaizens as well as establish wing to wing VSM and daily management.
- Able to mentor and facilitate lean culture change in an environment with varying acceptance. Knowledge of manufacturing management such as production and inventory control, quality management systems, and standard cost systems.
- German and English Language is mandatory.

Desired Characteristics:

- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- Lean (Manufacturing) certification.
- Experience working in heavy industrial and large assembly environment.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in Manufacturing, Operations and /or Lean.
- Excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills with the ability to speak and communicate effectively with both senior management and production teams.
- Exceptional organizational and project management skills; demonstrated ability to lead programs / projects.
