We are looking for a Senior Accountant to join our accounting team.

Reporting to the Manager, Accounting, the Senior Accountant is responsible for our day-to-day accounting and finance requirements for the German office and for the Danish subsidiary. In this role you will support the monthly financial statement close and reporting process and assist with the accurate, complete, and timely reporting of all monthly financial information.

About You - experience, education, skills, and accomplishments.- Bachelor’s degree in a business administration/Accounting and Finance- Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience.

It would be great if you also had...- Knowledge in local GAAP.- Knowledge of local tax (VAT) rules.- Fluency in English- Previous experiences with Salesforce or similar tools.- Experience with a GL solution such as Oracle, Hyperion, SAP etc- Previous international accounting experience.

What will you be doing in this role?- Records financial transaction on a daily basis including debits and credits and GL.- Reconciles several accounts ensuring accuracy in balance sheet accounts.- Prepares and various monthly reconciliation reports to comply with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Audit Requirements.- Handles the Account payables including AP aging reports and monthly payments to the vendors.- Matches Purchase orders to vendor invoices in cooperation with the procurement team in HQ.- Contacts vendors concerning issues with their accounts and responds to vendor requests.- Monitors employee’s expense reports in accordance with local GAAP and company policy.- Prepares and submits monthly and quarterly VAT returns and ensure their accurateness.- Issues Intercompany invoices and supports the Manager, Accounting in reconciling IC Accounts.- Prepares various journals in the moth end process.- Supports monthly reporting and annual financial statements.- Contributes to the successful completion of quarterly reviews and annual audits.- Collaborates with various functional departments as appropriate.- Participates in special projects and performs additional duties as required.- Collaborates with Finance department to continue to develop monthly and quarterly financial statement close and internal reporting process.

About the Team

The role reports to the Manager, Accounting.

Hours of Work

This is a full-time position based in Hamburg, Germany and will require hybrid working in our Hamburg office (2-3 days per week in office, rest of week remote).

This position requires weekday (Monday - Friday) attendance with some scheduling flexibility available around core working hours.

Occasional travel may be required.
