This role will report directly to the VP, Strategic Sourcing and will be onsite in Berlin, Germany.

**ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Oversee and direct all aspects of regional strategic sourcing while contributing to the achievement of Operating Margin Expansion (OMX) goals and QDIC.
- Hire develop and retain top talent supply chain professionals while driving a culture of stretch goal attainment utilizing process improvement tools to support growth and investment at the regional level.
- Develop and deploy global commodity strategies with emphasis on creating value for Hach through improved product profitability, increased supplier collaboration, and a stable supply base despite volatility in the global and regional supply.
- Conduct market analysis to assess environmental conditions to determine a buy best approach evaluating value beyond price (e.g. Innovation, Growth, Life-Cycle Costs, Working Capital, and Capex) while ensuring material continuity and minimizing supply risk management objectives
- Reduce supplier risk through procurement strategies including the consolidation of suppliers and migration of sole/single source suppliers to multi-source
- Develop and deploy Value Analysis and Value Engineering (VAVE) roadmap in support of product quality at reduced cost as measured byannual material cost productivity targets (aligned with company KPI standards).
- Develop sourcing strategies and plans in collaboration with Hach cross-funcational partners to best leverage spend and supplier value and the achievement of quality, delivery, cost and inventory goals.

**QUALIFICATIONS**:

- BS Degree required; MBA preferred.
- 10+ years of Purchasing and/or Supply Chain experience including a minimum of 5+ years leading procurement or supply chain organization
- Demonstrated ability to develop and successfully implement global sourcing strategy and implementation in both High Cost Regions (HCR) and Low Cost Regions(LCR).
- Lean manufacturing and/or six sigma experience desirable
- Team player with strong customer orientation and ability to work in multinational and multicultural environment.
- Proven leadership, negotiation, and public presentation skills
