**Technical Director (w/m/d)**

For our client, a worldwide leading auto parts supplier from China, which is specialized in design, manufacturing and sales of exterior auto parts, we are looking for a Technical Director (full-time position).

**Duties and responsibilities**:

- Interface between the customer and the company in China
- Define vision and road maps and manage the creation, development and realization of Innovations in the fields of EV Battery Housings, Structural Body Parts, Illuminated Vehicle Grilles and Trim Parts
- Heavily accompanied the fast growth of Group in Europe
- Represented company at customers R&D and technical organizations
- Reinforce the cooperation and communication with the headquarter Research & Development Center in China to meet the fast increasing volume of acquisition and development work
- Reorganize and improve the KPI and Design Quality systems, Training plans, Documentation and information systems for more efficiency at any kind of internal or external processes
- Implement a rigorous review system for all design and production related processes to identify in early stage any type of error or omission and to initiate appropriate countermeasures
- Based on above mentioned review system, pushed standardized platforms and components to generate volume benefits and significant improvements of production processes, equipment and tools, which created significant cost reductions
- Change business relation with customers from a typical build-to print status to a real tier 1, to become a preferred pre-development partner
- Develop the team by tailor-made trainings, to bring them to the next excellence level
- Establish cooperation with Universities and other Institutes to keep always on the latest stage of excellence
- Steady search for new talents, like students to win them as new engineers for the entire group
- Overall technical responsibility for implementation and to ensure technology leadership

**Qualifications and knowledge**:

- Technical university degree with at least ten years of professional experience or comparable training in the technical field, preferably in the metal or automotive industry
- All-encompassing understanding of processes and requirements in the areas of technology, design and project management
- In-depth technical understanding
- Ability to control very complex situations
- Extensive management experience, also in leading intercultural teams
- Experience in building customer relationships
- Knowledge of German and English, fluent in spoken and written
- High cost and quality awareness, solution-oriented thinking and hands-on mentality
- Willingness to travel
