**Vice President, Data Centre Operations Germany**

**The Role**

Reporting to the Senior Vice President Operations EMEA, the Vice President (VP) Operations Germany leads day to day field operations for all data centers in Germany.

The VP is responsible for executing the operations growth and expansion agenda for the region whilst enabling a people-first culture where everyone feels they belong. This role will also drive consistency and streamlined approach to operations within EMEA.

**Key responsibilities and accountabilities**:
**Overseeing day-to-day data center operations for Germany**

- Drive strategic planning and priorities for data center operations,

- Establish and track against KPIs, SLAs, and metrics (including regional performance, capacity, availability, and budget)

- Oversee on the ground incident response, problem resolution, and change management to support Equinix customer experience

- Drive a customer centric approach and ensure consistency in operations across all data centers in the region, aligning with EMEA and Global standards

- Coordinate with global design and construction team to ensure consistency and efficiency

- Drive alignment and collaboration with the region’s cross functional stakeholders (Sales, Customer Care, Country MD’s and EMEA President) and key customers

- Establish critical business continuity plans, including design and implementation of disaster preparedness, detailed project management, and logistics coordination

- Establish and track safety measures to ensure safety of frontline resources

**Leading a diverse, high-performing team**

- Empower frontline resources to meet customer needs by creating the environment of customer centricity and continuous improvement

- Create a high performing leadership team, who can in turn drive the strategic direction through actionable deliverables

- Enable a people first culture, promoting inclusivity and collaboration, to empower and motivate teams on a shared vision

**Identify opportunities for process improvement**

- Develops a roadmap for innovation, investigation of new methods and processes, and how they will be assimilated into the operations hub whilst aligning with regional and global standards

- Evangelizes Equinix’s core operations philosophies such as reliability, safety, sustainability, power and cost efficiency with internal and external customers and suppliers.

**Thought leader and influencer within EMEA operations and the business**

- Contributes to strategy of regional operations and EMEA business unit.

- Collaborates closely cross-functionally within operations (regional operations leaders, construction, procurement, energy) and business functions (country leaders, corporate and real estate development, sales, product, marketing, sustainability etc) to represent and develop all data center operations requirements.


**Knowledge and experience sought**:

- Extensive experience in of leading operations teams at scale (300+ people) delivering service, incident and problem management

- Solid understanding of operations within a mechanical and electrical engineering environment in data centers or similar process-driven industry. We are keen to explore conversations with leaders from industries where high availability of mechanical and electrical equipment is critical to organizational success. Examples include, but are not limited to telecommunications, petrochemicals / oil and gas, Industrial manufacturing, energy and utilities, electrical engineering, mission critical, aerospace and Defence, BioPharma manufacturing, semiconductors

- Strong people leadership experience of driving results, developing high-performing teams and a people-first culture

- Substantial track record of
