**What we do**: **We build software that helps companies along the food system get to Net Zero.** ~31% of global GHG emissions originate from food-related activities. For the first time in history, climate performance has become an overall business performance indicator. Enterprises are mandated by regulatory bodies to disclose their climate performance, which leads to increasing pressure from investors, competitors, retailers, and consumers to _prevent and reduce_ their CO2e emissions. Over the next 10 years, companies have set ambitious reduction targets that need to be met. Enterprise software and new business processes can help. We raised >€10m in funding in the first 2 years of our existence, we launched our enterprise product, signed and onboarded some of the largest F&B players in Europe, and put together what we believe is the best-suited early stage tech team in Europe. Will you be the next to join us? **What you will work on**: **Your mission**: Design and mature Root’s product offering, owning solutions end-to-end, conducting research, testing and delivery. **Over the next 12 months you can expect**: - At Root, product designers are generalists: We want you to own the whole process from user research to prototypes and low-code products, working with engineers make it a reality. - Help shape the design function at Root; we have ambitious goals; as the 2nd design hire, you will be a key part of it. - Translate design ideas into wireframes, interfaces and scalable user experiences. - Conduct on-site and remote user research to better understand our users and test solutions. **What the role can evolve into**: - Own the end-to-end design for a number Root products in the works. - Manage the expansion of Root’s product to other verticals/geographies, skill up into helping drive our product strategy, and service design offerings - we support you on your self-determined growth trajectory **How we support you**: **Meet the** rest of the team Your functional leader will be: Dominic **Your mentors can be** - Jasson Schrock (First designer at Youtube after Google acquisition, ex-OneFootball, ex-BCG Digital Ventures) - It is important to us to give you the best conditions for learning and career growth.. See some of our other angel investors and mentors _HERE_._ **What you bring along**: **About you**: - **Mid/Senior Product Designer**: We are flexible when it comes to experience. - **Language requiremen**t: Fluent in English and German - ** At least** **2 years** of experience in end-to-end product design. - A **portfolio** demonstrating previous experience across research, design and delivery of user-centric products. - Experience conducting **User Research** to help understand and empathise with our users on-site and remotely. - You show tremendous **product curiosity** and are excited about solving customer needs by means of smart and pragmatic product - You have lots of fun **designing & testing** **prototypes** in design tools like Figma, and even low/no code tools (like Retool) - You have worked with closely with **design systems** and have helped contribute to building them out. - You want to explore the **world of (sustainable) food** and empathise with the people working in our food system. **Hiring Process**: Our ambition is to offer you an end-to-end experience that is fast and uncomplicated - **we aim to keep the end-to-end process to 10 days max**.
