**What do you contribute?**

In your new role in strategic purchasing for rail vehicles, you will play a key role in defining and implementing procurement strategies for our components, in particular fans and brake resistors.
- You will define sourcing strategies that comply with global guidelines while meeting specific business requirements at a local level.
- You will prepare and implement negotiations with suppliers to realize significant savings for each product category. One focus is on improving payment terms.
- Innovation through collaboration: You foster collaboration with (cost and value) engineering to effectively leverage supplier innovation to drive product development.
- You ensure that Siemens' interests are represented in all competitive sourcing activities. Your commitment leads to continuous improvements in the areas of quality, cost, delivery, service, and technology.
- Within assigned commodity groups, you will champion productivity initiatives to maximize material cost savings and ensure efficient processes.
- You will actively support the supplier qualification process for new suppliers by working closely with Supplier Quality Management (SQM), Project Managers and Engineering.
- In addition, you will analyze the cost structure of your trades in detail, identify potential for improvement and provide reliable and accurate cost calculations/comparisons behind supplier bids.

**What do you bring along?**
- You hold a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering.
- In addition, you have several years of professional experience in a purchasing position in strategic purchasing.
- Alternatively, you have several years of experience in sales/as a Key Account Manager (f/m/d) in the rail industry and are therefore familiar with our products/components.
- The ability to build positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders is important.
- You are able to be innovative in matters of strategic sourcing, supplier relations, quality assurance and delivery and have already demonstrated this.
- You are fluent in English and have a good command of German.
