Ideas Engineering is a section of Axel Springer National Media & Tech that focuses on developing innovative software for the media industry.
By combining cutting edge technology, agile thinking, and a motivated team, we turn ideas into great products. We like to experiment with the new, innovative stuff, reflect upon it and learn from failures.

**_Your future team_**

Our team develops and maintains multiple products that are used by Axel Springer units (Welt, Bild,...). Our main project is currently aravoices. Aravoices is a Text-to-speech service that generates natural sounding synthetic voices that are used to convert text into audio. A synthesis pipeline automates this conversion process by importing text from different sources and releasing the audios to our publications. aravoices is already in production on our indistry-leading media websites and users can listen to articles anytime and anywhere.

Our second project EFA is an editorial photo accounting sofware component that automates royalty payments to creators. It's complexity derives from its connections to publisher’s asset managment, CMS and SAP to issue invoice commands. The users are photo-editors that are responsible for buying and extending the lifetime of assets.

The team is cross-functional consisting of a product manager, owning the product vision and roadmap, AI engineers, developing the ML models, and software engineers who allow for the scalable and frictionless content production and integration. In addition, we work closely with multiple tech teams from other units, research experts and linguists.

We are an open and motivated bunch with positive energy, who strive to constantly improve and scale our products.

**Job Description**:
**Product Owner in an interdisciplinary team who wants to build up and scale early-stage products**
- you support the team by turning customer needs and product vision into actionable user stories
- you are responsible for the product backlog and prioritization of user stories based on changing requirements
- you accept the completed user stories and make sure that they fulfill the criteria.
- you attend the product related agile/scrum meetings to ensure that development work is aligned with the roadmap
- you are the customer’s advocate to the development team
- you coordinate and align with other development teams within Axel Springer departments in order to bring solutions to production
- you learn about exciting new ideas, methods, sometimes fail and succeed a lot

**Qualifications**:
**Open-minded team player with a passion for building early-stage products**
- you have a bachelor's degree with a strong technical background
- you have professional working proficiency in German (C1) and English (B2)
- you have 1-3 years of experience in managing product development in an agile/scrum environment
- you have strong analytical mindset to generate insights from usage data
- you are passionate about great design and user experience
- you are independent, able to work efficiently with little supervision and with a high degree of self-motivation
- you have strong verbal and written communication skills and can adjust to different levels of technical understanding
