Biophysics with focus on Spatial Biology in Translational Medicine
in research and teaching.
The professorships research will focus on “Spatial Biology in Translational Medicine” at the Centre for Protein Diagnostics (PRODI). Spatial biology deals with the visualization of molecules in a two-dimensional or three-dimensional context as well as the spatial arrangement and interactions within complex tissues and organisms. This interdisciplinary field combines knowledge from medicine, biology, physics and computer science to achieve a comprehensive understanding of biological systems in health and disease. As an interface between clinical and experimental science, this professorship will combine innovative methods of ‘spatial biology’ and clinical applicability.

- strong commitment in teaching
- readiness to participate in interdisciplinary academic work / readiness to participate in interdisciplinary research
- willingness and proven ability to attract significant third-party funded research projects
- A doctorate of outstanding quality in biophysics, biochemistry, biology, biomedicine or a related discipline
- Experience in translational medical research.
