At the Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg, Faculty of Natural Sciences II, Institute of Physics, is

seeking, within the project Thera4Age, to fill a fixed-term, full-time position of

Scientist / Postdoc (m-w-d)

in the field of in vivo photoacoustic tomography at the earliest possible date. The position is limited until

31.12.2027.

The salary will be up to Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L, if the personal requirements and tasks are fulfilled.

**Tasks**:
The Thera4Age collaborative research project - Innovative therapeutic concepts for age-associated diseases
- uses a translational approach to develop and preclinically test therapeutic strategies for several showcases

of age-associated diseases. To this end, working groups from various scientific and medical disciplines are

evaluating promising molecular targets.
- Development of methods for functional and molecular photoacoustic tomography of vascular diseases
- Establishing and validating novel imaging protocols for quantitative imaging of vascular markers and mor
- phologies _in vivo_
- Publication of results in peer-reviewed journals
- Occasional supervision of bachelor and master projects

The position offers the opportunity for qualification equivalent to a habilitation.

**Requirements**:

- Completed doctoral degree in medical physics, biomedical engineering, biology, life sciences, or a related

engineering discipline
- Experience in some of the following fields: _in vivo _biomedical imaging, preclinical imaging studies in model

organisms, optics, acoustics, signal and image processing
- Experience in planning and execution of scientific studies, communication of results (preparation of publi
- cations, conference presentations etc.)
- Ability to work independently within an interdisciplinary team, organisational skills.
