Bruker Nano has an opening for an
**Application Scientist (M/F/d)** based at our Karlsruhe, Germany office.

**Responsibilities**:

- Attend tradeshows, exhibitions, conferences and workshops to promote Bruker products and generate new leads.
- Travel with sales colleagues to customer sites to answer questions and give high level technical presentations on Bruker’s products and solutions.
- Measure customer samples and produce quality reports to further sales case.
- Conduct instrument demonstrations in the Bruker office in Karlsruhe and at customer sites to help close sales cases.
- Help provide technical response to tenders and bids calling for Bruker related instrumentation.
- Jointly manage and maintain demonstration equipment & laboratory in Karlsruhe.
- Maintain excellent customer relationships post purchase order and communicate effectively with Bruker’s service and support groups to ensure customers are well taken care of to ensure repeat business.
- Cross train on other Bruker Nano instrumentation, to become multifunctional and provide cover for other team members.

Qualifications:
**Knowledge, skills, and abilities**:
To perform the above job functions successfully an individual must have demonstrable character traits, knowledge, and skills such as:

- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- A positive team player, self-motivated, and able to act autonomously.
- Strong analytical skills and problem solving mentality.
- Organized with solid time management & good multitasking skills.
- Able to decide priorities in a rapidly changing commercial environment.
- Able to work under pressure to meet business goals.
- Passionate and dynamic, highly committed to deliverables.
- Fluent in English. German and/or French beneficial.
- Adept with common office software such as Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook etc
- Knowledge and experience of the markets served by Bruker-Nano.
- Current valid driver license and passport.

**Educational/experience requirements**:

- PhD level in Physical Science Discipline
- 3 years experience in AFM and/or AFM-IR and/or FTIR
- Publication record with relevant technology
- Knowledge/expertise in molecular spectroscopy

**Physical/environmental requirements**:

- Usual office working conditions with a large percentage of time spent using a computer.
- Travel requirements (within EMEA region) up to 50% of the work time.
