Graduate/junior Quantity Surveyor

Ireland’s leading specialist roofing, cladding and façade contractor is looking to hire a Junior/Graduate Quantity Surveyor. We are the partner of choice to clients across Ireland and Europe in all sectors of the construction industry including digital technology, commercial, retail, industrial, residential, pharmaceutical and healthcare.

**We are looking for somebody to be site based to continue their development.**

**Sites could be in Sweden, Austria, Germany or Finland.**

**Salary €35,000 - €40,000**

**KEY FUNCTIONS & RESULTS AREAS (KEY ACTIVITIES)**:
Assisting with preparation of tenders.

Carrying out site surveys for estimating & contracting purposes.

Carrying out take-offs and production of Bills of Quantities.

Assisting with interim claims, final accounts and day works claims.

Assisting with procurement of materials to suit project programme and negotiating best prices with suppliers.

Assisting with production of Health & Safety documentation.

On site record keeping including completion of daily diary, labour allocation returns and submission of delay notifications.

Produce budgets and cash flow forecasts for all secured projects or as directed by the Project Quantity Surveyor/Commercial Manager/Director.

Under the supervision and guidance of Commercial Manager/Director, carry out value engineering exercises under and make cost saving proposals to Main Contractor/ Client.

Maintain a close working with the Contracts Manager/Project Quantity Surveyor.

Pricing and submitting of costs for all variations in a timely fashion.

Certify works completed by subcontractors in liaison with contracts manager.

Ensuring contract correspondence is being responded to quickly and contractually.

Regular site administration duties.

Set an example of the Company’s professional image at all levels of contact and ensure similar conduct from subcontractors and supervisors.

Any other reasonable duties as required by the directors, management or consultants appointed by the directors.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**:
1. A construction related college degree or equivalent, construction science or engineering degree essential.

2. Enthusiastic and willing to learn.

3. Must have a high level of computer skills including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Microsoft Project is a plus.

4. Excellent IT skills.

5. Excellent organisational skills.

6. Budget management experience and demonstrable attention to detail.

7. Strong team player.

8. Current driver’s licence.
