**SUMMARY**

The 405th Army Field Support Brigade has fully activated its Army Prepositioned Stock-2 (APS-2) sites, and for the first time in the brigade’s APS-2 program history it’s tasked with outfitting an entire armored brigade combat team being deployed to Europe from the United States.

At the direction of the Commander, U.S. European Command, U.S. Army Europe and Africa is drawing APS-2 equipment and vehicles, mostly from Coleman work site in Mannheim, Germany, under the command and control of Army Field Support Battalion-Mannheim, 405th AFSB.

The APS-2 draw of an armored brigade combat team plus enablers is currently in the process of being delivered to Grafenwöhr Training Area in Germany. The APS-2 equipment and vehicles are being loaded onto military and commercial line-haul trucks and transported to Grafenwöhr. The 405th AFSB’s Army Field Support Battalion-Germany is tasked with reception and staging of the APS-2 in preparation for issue to 1st ABCT, 3rd Inf. Div. at an Equipment Configuration and Handoff Area in Grafenwöhr.

The Inspector
- Heavy Wheel is responsible for the maintenance and inspection of wheeled vehicles and equipment

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- High School graduate or equivalent
- A minimum of 1 year of wheeled vehicle maintenance is required
- A minimum of 1 year of experience as a wheeled vehicle inspector is preferred
- U.S. Army 91B or equivalent military experience preferred
- Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of general quality inspection procedures, maintenance forms, records, reporting systems, and management
- Must be capable of reading, interpreting, and using complex blueprints, schematic diagrams, and data tables
- Must be able to perform a complete technical inspection of units and be able to determine that completed repairs comply with standards described in applicable publications
- Must be able to instruct and demonstrate correct maintenance techniques and procedures
- Must possess and maintain a valid driver’s license and be able to operate a government general-purpose vehicle
- Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English
- Must have knowledge of diagnostics tools and forms used at the unit level
- Must be able to read vehicle/equipment schematics
- Must have the ability to analyze and interpret U.S. Army Technical Manuals in relation to vehicle maintenance and repair

**JOB DESCRIPTION INCLUDES, BUT IS NOT LIMITED TO**:

- Perform scheduled and unscheduled inspections of maintenance actions and repairs performed on vehicles and equipment
- Oversee, assist, and/or conduct initial inspections upon delivery of equipment and records data information for the processing of maintenance work orders.
- Troubleshoot identified faults and in-process inspections as required during the repair phase.
- Conduct a final inspection upon completion of maintenance repairs to ensure quality product outputs are met.
