Senior Expert Esg Reporting

The Environmental Social Governance (ESG) Department is one of the company’s global functions. The ESG team members are tasked to weave sustainability deep into HeidelbergCement’s business model and to embed it into our corporate culture.

Our diverse team plays a central role in supporting group functions, operations and countries. Therefore, the respective topic experts of ESG enable them in embodying sustainability into their daily decision-making and in creating innovative as well as appropriate business solutions.

As Senior Expert ESG Reporting (f/m/d) you will guide and drive the development of our ESG reporting, its integration with financial reporting as well as the data transparency and reliability. On a daily basis you will work on preparing for existing and upcoming reporting requirements such as the EU CSRD, EU Taxonomy, TCFD or investor requests. You will set up reporting processes and structures and ensure the auditability of the data and timely delivery. You will work closely with other internal departments, the country organisations and key external stakeholders and drive the further automatization of data collection and reporting.

You will directly report to the Senior Manager ESG Strategy & Reporting. The position is located in Heidelberg, Germany.

**Your next challenge**:

- Lead the integration of ESG data in financial reporting
- Develop internal processes, control systems and structures for ESG reporting on Group level in close alignment with technical and financial departments
- Take responsibility for data analysis and preparation for the combined annual reporting
- Liaise with our auditor to ensure unqualified and timely assurance of our data
- Provide guidance and training to country organisations on definitions
- Develop approaches to further automatize the collection and reporting of data across all business lines
- Expand the reporting scope in terms operations and topics covered
- Guide the future direction of our sustainability reporting by following current developments in ESG reporting such as the EU Taxonomy, the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) or ISSB

**Your profile**:

- Academic degree in business administration, engineering or other relevant fields
- Minimum of two years of work experience, preferably in audit or reporting related functions
- Very good analytical and conceptual skills as well as good communication skills
- Strong affinity to data and numbers as well as attention to details
- Good IT skills, especially with regards to Excel are a requirement, additional knowledge of ESG reporting software is a plus
- Interest and knowledge of sustainability matters as well as management and reporting thereof is an asset
- Energetic “hands on” approach with good organization skills, goal orientation and the ability to prioritize
- Willingness to travel abroad
- Fluent German and English skills (favorable C-Level), additional languages on B level are an asset
