**What you’ll be doing...**

Verizon is looking for a talented, dynamic attorney who is passionate about the Internet and the digital communications sector. You are part of the fast-moving, collaborative European regulatory team in which together with others you will responsible for the Central & Eastern European (CEE) region which focuses on Germany, Switzerland and Austria, but also covers the Eastern European EU Countries.

You will be joining the Verizon International Legal and Regulatory team, comprising 75 legal and regulatory professionals located across 17 countries, who are responsible for legal, regulatory and public policy support for all Verizon legal entities outside of the US. The role is based in Frankfurt, Germany, but there is flexibility to work from other offices in the region.

**Responsibilities**:

- Provide guidance and support on regulatory and compliance matters (incl. but not limited to ESG, Data privacy) relating to our business activities including identification of security, advocacy and privacy topics in the German speaking and selected Eastern European EU member states
- Learn and understand new products/solutions under development, and effectively communicate identified legal risks with technical nuance.
- Partner with Technology, Marketing, Sales, and others to develop and launch innovative products and solutions that will deliver the promise of the digital world to our customers.
- Assist in fact-gathering and analysis of existing and proposed rules, regulations and laws to support public policy and regulatory efforts on issues relevant to new product and business development.
- Collaborate with colleagues in EMEA, Asia Pacific, and Latin America regions to develop global best practices.
- Support the Legal and Regulatory Department with on-going and special initiatives, including knowledge management, process improvement, and training initiatives.

**What we’re looking for...**

You'll need to have:

- Willingness and ability to work on a wide range of regulatory issues
- Legal background, preferably being admitted to bar in Germany and/or another EU jurisdiction
- Proactive approach to continuous improvement, idea development and problem solving, with the ability to think strategically
- Excellent English language writing and presentation skills
- Skills and interest to manage time and prioritize multiple responsibilities while learning from senior team members
- Sense to rapidly assess potential risks, benefits and consequences of business and regulatory decisions
- Preparedness to travel

Even better if you have:

- Experience with telecommunications regulations, EU and member state privacy laws, product development, industry associations, and/or experience in the mobile sector
- Strong interest in electronics, computer, software development or other engineering or computer science matters
- Ability to give clear and concise legal advice to internal clients and stakeholders including assessment of risks
- First experiences in-house at a technology company or in private practice handling technological matters
- Eastern European language skills
- Interest in working with global teams across different cultures
- Proficient computer skills, including working knowledge of GSuite (Google Docs, Google Sheets, Google Mail, etc.)

**Where you’ll be working**: In this hybrid role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
