The tasks within the thesis will consist of:

- **Development, test and analysis of neural network-based control algorithms **in simulations
- **Testing promising approaches in real works **with a FPGA based prototype platform
- **Benchmarking these new approaches **with existing state-of-the-art control approaches
- **Motivate fitting validation strategies **for these new control schemes

The learnings out of the thesis will be/lead to
- **New control approaches **for power converters
- N **ew tuning and validation methods **for these converters

A doctoral student is a research enthusiast,

›who enjoys working in an industrial environment in combination with an Infineon partner university.

›who appreciates open communication and the contribution of an international environment.
- Hold a **master’s degree in Mathematics, Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Data Science **or something similar
- Have an extensive knowledge in **control theory**:

- Are familiar with **power semiconductors **and **switched mode power converters **specifically
- Are acquainted with **circuit simulation tools **like **MATLAB/Simulink **or **Simetrix**:

- Gained first experiences in **using FPGAs**:

- **Think algorithmically**:

- Provide **good language skills **, orally and in writing
- Have proven that you can work in **small teams and independently**

Know-how in following topics is preferable - but not mandatory
- Background in **artificial intelligence**:

- Experience with **MATLAB VHDL Coder**
