**Success in the Role: What are the performance outcomes over the first 6-12 months you will work toward completing?**
- As a Consulting Architect, you hold responsibility for defining, gathering and vetting customer requirements to create an architectural design consisting of virtual infrastructure, configuration recommendations and planning, and identification of deployment validation processes and procedures.
- You will acquire intimate knowledge of the customers’ business and its strategic goals and use your in-depth knowledge of VMware Virtual Infrastructure Deployment, Management & Administration to work with sales, pre-sales, and customers on building successful delivery roadmaps.
- Within 45 days of employment, you will be able to ensure the solution being delivered is fit for purpose through referencing the initial business goals and objectives, demonstrating commercial and scope awareness, and understanding the wider technical landscape and how it relates to/integrates with customer environments
- Within 90 days of employment, you will be expected to take full ownership of business outcomes, lead technical project teams and take accountability for all project deliverables further developing your documentation, technical writing and interpersonal skills

**What type of work will you be doing? What assignments, requirements, or skills will you be performing on a regular basis?**
- Articulate solution design, integrating both technical and business concepts, and present a transformational journey to project stakeholders.
- Work with Sales to create proposals with realistic work stream timelines and scope
- Manage technical governance for the end-to-end solutions
- Present complex technical approaches on CEO level
- Act as mentor
- Gather use case requirements and create high and low-level enterprise designs while functioning as a resource for “Best Practices” and driving adoption of VMware solutions.
- Maintain current, high-level technical knowledge of the entire VMware product line and future product direction and expert level knowledge of the core VMware product line and your specialist area
- Use your VCP (VMware Certified Professional) and your IT architecture certifications to deliver IT automation and cross-cloud solutions.
- Assist in the development of our consulting service offerings as well as developing white papers and best practices
- Speaking and writing **German** and **English** fluently is a must

**What is the leadership like for this role? What is the structure and culture of the team like?**

The hiring manager is Ulla Mauch, Senior Manager Professional Services Delivery Germany. Her experience has been built in years of activities in the software market, managing successful teams. She is managing the PS Delivery Team for Germany for the past 2.5 years, ensuring stable results and creating the field of a high emphatic environment, where the collaboration and fun is always key.

She strongly believes on the EPIC2 VMware values and is a strong mentor. The team members are all part of the discussion on assessing the team future and evolutions, always encouraged on contributing to bring improving ideas and solutions, with the highest customer centricity mindset possible.

The out-of-the-box thinking is strongly encouraged and welcome.

The team is composed by Project Managers, Consulting Architects, Sr. Consultants and Consultants across Germany. The team works flexible hours and location, arranging schedules to fit their needs and taking consideration the customers’ needs together with the personal work-life-balance.

**Where is this role located?**

The location of this role is Köln/Bonn area. Work will be done remotely or and other days from a non-VMware building or customer site.
