With previous careers at leading strategy consulting firms, our founders have a strong background in building and commercialising and are looking for you as the skilled colleague for outstanding operations.

**About the role**:
This Senior Buyer role is key to driving smatch’s expansion in the European fashion market. Focused on sourcing high-quality inventory at competitive prices, the role will build supplier relationships, negotiate deals, and lead a team. This position is vital for establishing a strong supply base and growing smatch’s market presence. The Senior Buyer will report directly to the founders of smatch.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Source and secure diverse supply channels, including brands, distributors, and retailers.
- Build and leverage personal networks to expand smatch’s sourcing options.
- Establish and manage business relationships, ensuring consistent quarterly deals.
- Act as senior contact for purchasing, managing supplier negotiations and decisions.
- Oversee budgets to optimize purchasing prices and profitability.
- Lead and mentor junior buyers as the team grows.
- Maintain strong, loyal relationships with brand representatives and partners.

**About you**:

- Extensive experience in buying, specifically within the off-price apparel, footwear, and accessories industry.
- Strong network within the industry and familiarity with alternative sourcing channels.
- Proven ability to negotiate effectively and close deals.
- Proficiency in category management and merchandise management.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Willingness to travel for meetings with brands and suppliers.
- Fluency in German and English is required; Italian or French is a plus.
- Based in Hamburg or elsewhere in Germany, with monthly visits to the office in Hamburg
