**What you will do**
- Participate in the development of photonic networks, sensors or LiDAR
- Implementation of digital signal processing in Python (or MATLAB)
- Experimental implementation of signal processing, e.g. with microcontrollers
- Optical and electrical characterization e.g. of lasers, optics, fibers etc. in the laboratory
- Developing (optical) simulations

**What you bring to the table**
- Enrolled full-time student at a German university, preferably in physics, electrical engineering, communications engineering with good to very good academic performance, from the 2nd semester onwards
- Experience with digital signal processing, preferably with Python (or MATLAB)
- High level of initiative and interest in scientific work
- Good communication skills (German/English) and ability to work in a team
- Experience and interest in working in the lab and with measurement setups

The position is initially limited to 6 months. An extension is explicitly desired.
