Lead External Affairs

The Lead External Affairs will be a press spokesperson for C&A in Germany and leading the team of external affairs manager in Europe. He or she will establish a close network with important journalists and be their point of contact for any media inquiry in Germany. You will be responsible for developing and implementing external communication measures in line with the corporate communications strategy. You will have the opportunity to build the own team and recruit external affairs manager in the C&A markets SE (Southern Europe), BNL (Benelux) and CEE (Central Eastern Europe). Support group-wide campaigns and closely align with relevant internal stakeholders on specific media requests.

**This Opportunity Will Give You The Chance To**:

- Write, edit and produce communications for external audiences such as briefing documents, articles, corporate statements, presentations, media releases, Q&A documents, positioning papers, etc.
- Ensure corporate messages are communicated in a clear, timely and effective manner to all relevant and external audiences, using a high impact writing style and format
- Create communication action plans, timelines, and defined communication deliverables that help shape C&A’s reputation and company culture
- Closely work together with the EHO External Affairs team, executing Group-wide campaigns in the respective market
- Support the team on issue and crisis communication matters
- Drive the communication part of larger change
- Support social media communications in particular LinkedIn and Twitter communication
- Support managing corporate events
- Continually improve, measure, and evaluate effectiveness of the company’ s communications strategy and methods
- Ensure brand consistency across corporate content through consistent corporate messaging

**We would love to speak to those with**:

- Several years of relevant work experience in corporate and/or employee communications or related field in international corporate and/or agency environment
- Experience in leadership communication and driving change in global organizations
- Experienced in building and leading smaller teams
- Build and lead the new External Affairs team in Europe with an approachable and challenging leadership style
- Excellent writing, editing and verbal communication skills in English and German. Bilingual level preferred.
- Experience with modern communication tools and approaches, including the management of social media channels
- Experience with photo and video production is a plus
- Experience with media evaluation methods, reporting, research is a plus
