**What you will do**
- Deposition and characterization of silicon nitride (SiN) thin films and silicon oxide/silicon nitride thin film stacks using plasma enhanced chemical vapor deposition (PECVD)
- Analyzing of the materials properties
- Investigation of the influence of process conditions and post deposition treatments like rapid thermal annealing (RTA) on the film properties
- Data interpretation (Spectroscopic Ellipsometry, x-Ray reflectometry, photoelectron spectroscopy, atomic force microscopy)

**What you bring to the table**
- Currently: Master program in physics, material science, chemistry, nanotechnology or a comparable field
- First experience in the area of vacuum and plasma technologies, semiconductor manufacturing processes, and thin film characterization
- Basic knowledge in solid state physics, thin film and waveguide optics, chemistry, semiconductor physics
- Enthusiasm for working in a team and carrying out experiments independently
- Fluent English, ideally also German

We support you in this process

The scientific work will be carried out in the research group **Low Power Function** at Fraunhofer IPMS in Dresden. The examination takes place via affiliation with a German university of applied sciences and is governed by the respective state university law.

The weekly working time is to be agreed individually. The position is limited for the time of the scientific work. The duration is flexible according to agreement and possible study guidelines.
