The position is part of the Special Investigation Program after the environmental disaster in the Oder River of August 2022 - ODER~SO - funded by the German Federal Agency for Nature Conservation (BfN) with funds from the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation, Nuclear Safety and Consumer Protection (BMUV). The project documents impact on aquatic organisms, analyses their regeneration and delivers precautionary research on possible further toxin waves, on resilience, ecosystem functions, ecosystem services and development scenarios of the river and its floodplains.
The researcher shall support the lead of the project by focusing on integrative scientific aspects of the results provided by the sub-project teams, which opens opportunities to initiate and finalize innovative conceptual synthesis across disciplinary borders.
**Your tasks**:
- Conceptualize and write interdisciplinary scientific publications on the results of ODER~SO
- Help synthesizing contributions of different research teams to overarching research objectives
- Support project coordination with respect to scientific reporting and publication management, and in facilitating and organizing brainstorm meetings on integrative ideas
**Your profile**:
- Master's degree and preferably doctorate of natural sciences, preferentially on a topic in environmental sciences or management
- Experience in collaborative project work
- First or senior authorship in scientific publications, preferentially in interdisciplinary ones
- Good English and some German language skills
