Big Fish has selected for one of our clients, a multinational technology company with a global presence, an **expert database administrator **with at least 1 year of experience, who will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and supervision of the systems. You will be responsible for our end client's databases, currently using MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server.

We are looking for someone with a structured, process-oriented and independent way of working, able to offer a distinctive and quality service, with excellent communication skills in German and English.

You will join us on a **full-time basis with a permanent contract** in a schedule from Monday to Thursday from 9am to 2pm and 3pm to 6pm and on Fridays from 9am to 3pm.

As the person responsible for the installation, maintenance and supervision of the database systems your functions will be:

- corrections of the databases of our client (MySQL and Microsoft SQL Server)
- backing up and restoring databases, including the use of backup and disaster recovery methods
- configuring and monitoring database systems for high availability and performance
- optimising database performance, including the use of monitoring and analysis tools
- troubleshooting database systems, including tracking error messages and system logs
- preparing for security clearances

What do we need you to contribute?
- degree in computer science, computer science, technology or related field/complete
- professional background in the IT sector with relevant work experience
- knowledge of database management systems like MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Postgres and Oracle
- thorough knowledge of SQL programming, including the use of Views, Store Procedures and Triggers
- good knowledge of German and English

If you have certifications such as Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) or Certified MySQL Database Administrator (CMDBA) it will be a plus.
