**About the team**
At SAP Field Service Management (FSM), it’s all about keeping the end-customer's equipment running. This means managing the lifecycle of service operations, easing the life of Dispatchers and Technicians by providing them the right information at right time, and all this while keeping costs for our customers low. By exceeding expectations, we strive to generate what we call as “SERVICE Moments”.
Such an ever-changing system requires agility (to adapt to new incoming tasks), flexibility (able to prioritize between different tasks) and speed (to respond quickly to changes).

Glimpse of our technical stack and culture:

- SaaS product running natively on AWS and Kubernetes
- We live DevOps culture (We Build It, We Run It) and deploy multiple times each day
- We follow and promote everything as code (even presentations, GitHub and many more)

Sneak-peak of our team located in Walldorf:

- Diverse team in Optimization area with focus on AI-based strategies and predictive routing
- Expertise in backend and experience in machine learning, following practices like TDD and pair-programming daily
- Our current engagements include evolutionary algorithms to solve Multiple Traveling Salesman Problem (mTSP) and predictive routing (using traffic data for optimization)

**The role**
To support the team, you will work on one or more topics below:

- Improvements in our genetic algorithm framework
- Research and PoCs for hyper-parameter search and budgeting
- Solving customer challenges in scheduling & optimization
- Work in scrum team adhering to agile software development principles
- Innovations like Chatbots for specific scenarios in FSM

As a team member, you will be cultivated to
- be self-driven to work independently and motivated to dive into unknown areas
- collaborate closely with team members for completion with utmost quality
- bring in innovation culture by self-learning and spreading knowledge within team

**Role requirements**
We learn together by sharing; hence we look for a curious and motivated individual and not necessarily an established personality. Bare minimums we require are:

- Student (f/m/d) at a university or a university of applied sciences
- Hands-on programming experience in any major programming languages (e.g. Java, JavaScript, Python, etc.)
- Good knowledge of cloud principles
- Able to work independently keeping the end-to-end process in mind
- Knowledge of micro-services and event-based architectures is a plus
