**Your Job**:
We investigate the underlying rhizosphere processes conferring wheat yield decline in successive wheat rotation. Our aim is to observe root adaptations and the associated soil - microbes
- plant interaction as affected by pre-crop history.
The position is based on Forschungszentrum Jülich campus. You will work in an international and vibrant group with exciting multi-disciplinary ongoing projects.
As a student assistant, you will:
- Be involved in field and laboratory research
- Assist with root imaging, nutrient extraction and analysis in the laboratory as well as isotopic measurements; therefore, prior laboratory experience is needed
- Work 3 days per week, change of working hours possible during sampling in the field
- Work in fluctuating weather conditions (spring to autumn) and carry up to 10 kg of research material in the field
**Your Profile**:
- Highly motivated Bachelor or Master student in soil science, chemistry, plant science, enivronmental science, biotechnology or related disciplines
- Experience in soil science research and lab work
- Prior knowledge of Winrhizo software is a plus
- Careful and independent work according to instructions is expected as well as motivation, willingness to learn and perseverance is expected
- Willingness to work in fluctuating weather conditions during sampling (spring to autumn) and carry up to 10 kg of research material in the field
