Scientific Data Management Associate (f/m/d) - Biology/ Chemistry / HTS Support

Full-time and permanent

As a Research Associate in Scientific Data Management and HTS Support, you are supporting Evotec’s project teams with scientific software solutions for assay data analysis and reporting. This is a key component in efficiently enabling and tailoring hit identification, hit-to-lead, and lead optimization pipelines.

Your key responsibilities:
- Support of analysis workflows and data handling of High Throughput Screening (HTS) and In Vitro pharmacology data including continuous development of relevant software tools- Develop guidelines and best practice business rules for the analysis of our HTS and In Vitro data- Maintenance and support of scientific data analysis software for HTS and In vitro pharmacology data as well as training of users- Update of an oracle database including the conception of efficient data upload procedures for hit to lead (H2L) and lead optimization (LO) projects; synchronization of implemented procedures with the global informatics solutions across Evotec-
- Cheminformatics support to enable robust scientific decision making- Close collaboration with customers and researchers from various teams and sites to support drug discovery efforts

Your ideal qualifications:
- Master’s degree in Bioinformatics, Biology, Biostatistics, Computer Science or a related field- Demonstrated strong programming skills in at least one of the following programming or scripting languages: Python, R, Ruby, Perl, Unix shell programming- Proficiency in working with scientific software tools (e.g., GraphPad Prism, Genedata Screener, Activity Base) and an understanding of common statistics and discovery informatics methods- Experience with databases and corresponding query languages (e.g., Oracle SQL) is of advantage- Knowledge of cheminformatics software solutions and databases. Knowledge of KNIME or RDKit would be a plus- Inclination for data analytics and effective presentation of key insights- Excellent team spirit, organizational skills, and communication- Proficient in dealing with internal and external customers and affinity for customer service- Professional language skills in oral and written English, German is advantageous
